After my Nurturing Birth course in 2010, I jumped head first into doulaing and my own mentorship journey. Being mentored was one of the most valuable, challenging and affirming experiences of not just my doula adventure but of my life. I continue to reflect and find time to be heard and listen during my own experienced doula mentor sessions which I value tremendously.
I was a busy doula in the UK then moved to Switzerland in 2014 where I ran the European Doula Network for over 3 years. This eye opening experience in ‘cultural literacy’ gave me opportunities to see the impact that a country’s culture and language has on families and the doulas working with them. I’m currently living in the United Arab Emirates, 20 mins from Dubai, with my husband and 2 of my 3 kids plus the random stray animals I seem to have a knack of collecting! Having been bitten by the adventuring bug at 40 years young, who knows knows where we will all end up next!
I’m a confident, honest and fiercely loyal person who doesn’t take herself too seriously and what I love about being a mentor is the endless opportunities my mentees give me to learn.
